Who Says The Experienced
Can't Become The Innovated?

Welcome Home

~ The times may be 'a-changing' but that shouldn't cause a generation of educators to be overlooked or forgotten because of their busy schedules and committed lives ~

Why Us, Why Now? -- The Unfortunate Blessing of Technology

Some of the best and most experienced educators today have fallen into an unfair classification in their profession; ineffective. Most do not deserve this label. In the best years of their lives, these educators were called to fill the duties and needs each school had; however, due to a competitive boom in technology and a recent trend to become '21st century' school systems, these professionals could not keep up. Keeping in mind that at one point in time, these people were considered the best in their respective school systems, they were asked to perform many duties outside of their 5 periods of teaching each day. Couple a busy schedule with a family at home, hobbies, and other interests and you can easily find a clear connection as to why these educators could not grow as fast professionally as the Tech Boom happened.

The Problem

We are faced with a frightening dilemma. We have a whole new era of students ready to be educated colliding with a generation of teachers finishing their last 5-10 years before retirement with a bitter taste in their mouths.

We Are The Solution

This is why we exist!
Olddawgsnewtricks.weebly.com exists to make clear comparative learning examples between older teaching methods and new technology being used in the classroom today.
